I'm just going to save a lot of time here and cut and paste: Since any adept will probably have a go to stance, the bonus is effectively free. I don't think the magic items were very well thought out - there's a weapon ability that costs +1, but gives you a nice bonus to hit so long as you're in the appropriate school's stance.Either they simply swapped the levels of the two on accident, or one of them has a typo. That is way out of line with other 4th level powers - and there's even a higher level power with the same theme that is actually less powerful. There was a fourth level crusader power that dealt an extra 8d8 damage. It's been a while since I looked at it, but some examples. I think the classes overall are balanced, but there are a few borked things in the ToB. If the group isn't normally full of hardcore optimizers, that can effectively make the classes more powerful. Take a Warblade and give it to that same beginner, and it'll turn out the powers he picked just because they sound cool are actually useful. You'll see a lot of folk talk about how powerful wizards are, but in the hands of a beginner you would never know it. It takes some effort to really get the most out of the PHB classes. One of the interesting things about the ToB classes is how easy it is for them to live up their full potential. There's no way round this, but it doesn't mean they are broken - fighters were always considered one of the weakest classes. r/boardgames - Boardgames that isn't TTRPGs.Hide "Table Troubles"-threads Related Subreddits Hide promo)-threads - (Crowdfunding, Free, Product, Self Promotion) You can discuss these Weekly Free Chat-thread.ĪMA Guide tips if you want to hold an AMA Filters
